Welcome to the Yadkin Arts Council
and Yadkin Cultural Arts Center Website

Boy playing bluegrass music, eyes closed

The Yadkin Arts Council owes its beginning to a small group of dedicated local people with a common desire to promote the visual and performing arts in their rural community...and eventually, to find a permanent home for the arts. The latter would take some time. The Yadkin Arts Council has been housed over the years in a number of unusual buildings, including a freezer locker (see A Slice of History)

The Yadkin Valley has undergone a sea change: where tobacco once was king, vineyards thrive. Responding to the changing needs and broadened scope of its community, the Council is transforming a historic landmark building in downtown Yadkinville into a 10,000 square foot state-of-the-art cultural center, the YCAC.

The Yadkin Cultural Arts Center

  • Will build community
  • Attract new residents
  • Play a crucial role role in economic development
  • Grow social capital and cultural tourism.

GOT BRICK?

We've dubbed the public phase of the capital campaign for the Cultural Arts Center Got Brick?

Our campaign kick off on May 27th was a great success with around 200 people turning out despite the heavy downpour...and the creative reconfiguration of an outdoor event into an indoor one.

A big thank you to The Kruger Brothers for their wonderful music, and to all the people who turned out to show their support for the Center.  Please visit the photo gallery often to view our progress during this next phase of the journey.
