Barbara Rizza Mellin

Barbara is an award-winning artist and writer. She relocated from the Boston area, where she taught studio art and art history for more than 25 years. She now works from SouthHouse Studio in her Winston Salem home. She is a member of the Printmakers of North Carolina, Women Painters of the South East and Oil Painters of America. She also belongs to Associated Artists of Winston Salem, AFAS, the Muddy River Art Association, and serves on the board of Winston Salem Writers. She loves travel and find the diverse cultures of the world often inspire both her artwork and writing. Printmaking is her particular passion. Whether creating dry-point etchings on her press, carving reduction woodblocks or white-line lino-cuts by hand or creating collograph and monotype prints, she loves the multi-layered process of printmaking.
