I have always had an interest in working with wood. From the time I was a young boy, I worked in my father’s furniture shop, learning by observation and many hours of hands-on experience. Later I used these skills to make furniture for my own home. Several years ago, this love of wood and nature provided for a natural transition to woodturning.
Today I make a variety of turned bowls and vessels using only local woods, usually from my property in Lewisville. Storm felled and standing dead trees provide the raw materials Similar to fine furniture, each piece is finished with several coats of hand-rubbed shellac and natural varnish and then polished with high-quality paste wax.
