Come join in on the fun on Third Tuesdays by participating in Art a la Carte at the Yadkin Cultural Art Center.
Each month we will offer a different art experience for you to sample. These are two – three hour sessions and all supplies are furnished. Feel free to bring a beverage of choice and a snack.
The artists need time to prepare supplies and projects so Pre-registration is a must! The cutoff date will be 5 p.m. on the Friday before unless the class meets maximum numbers before that time OR if the artist has specified another date. Sessions will be 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. unless otherwise noted. Check individual listings for specific registration cut-off dates and class times. If you do not wish to register online, you can stop by the Center and register with a check.
Note: We understand that things happen so if you need to cancel more than two weeks prior to cut-off date, a credit will be issued for another class of your choosing. Due to artist prep time, there are no refunds for cancellation less than two weeks prior to cut-off date.

October 17 – Fabric Collage Art with Lisa Reavis Drum
Learn the basics of fabric collage while designing and creating a unique piece for yourself! This beginner class will teach you the basic techniques to create Fabric Collage Art. During our three-hour class (6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.), you will use the new techniques to complete a 5” x 7” piece that we will frame! You will be able to take the techniques you learn in class to create a wide range of art projects from wall hangings to placemats to full size floor quilts. As a bonus, all students can also create a mini 3” x3” piece that includes a tiny easel on which to display your mini masterpiece!
November 14 – Zipper Pins & Pendants with Leslie Fesperman
Join Leslie Fesperman for an evening of creating and learning the basics of how to make “zipper” jewelry. Using bits and pieces of wool participants will create one of a kind jewelry. This Café Art A La Carte will be held in The Yadkin Valley Fiber Room located at 230 East Main Street in Yadkinville. Choosing colors and creating their own designs participants will make one or more pieces as time allows. Use of tools and materials included in class fee.
January 16 – Edgar Degas’ “Dancers at the Barre”
Learning from Famous Artist Series with Lynn MacMartin
Join Lynn MacMartin her latest class where you’ll explore Edgar Degas “Dancer at the Barre” impressionistic painting style and experience his passion and appreciation of the work involved in the life of the dancer, the endless rote and repetition of steps to achieve supreme grace, agility, and expression. Acrylic paints on 11 x 14 canvas; No experience necessary. Fee includes all supplies
