AUDITIONS for 2025 Page to Stage production of “Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Musical (60 minute version)” – December 4 & 5, 2024 (6-8pm)

WHAT IS PAGE TO STAGE?

Each February, the Yadkin Arts Council produces a professional-level children’s theater production that we present to Yadkin County elementary school students. We select a musical (or play) based on a beloved children’s book, we cast the show primarily featuring Yadkin County high school students (but also middle school and adult performers), we perform a week’s worth of 9am school shows, and we donate sets of books the show is based on to classrooms and libraries across the county. This year, due to increased popularity, we will have 2 public performances as well. If you’re serious about taking your performing skills to the next level, Page-To-Stage is the perfect opportunity for you. Performing for a full audience of kids is an experience like none other! They make the best audience! This year our director is the beloved Adam Houston!

*** The Yadkin Arts Council will help arrange excusal from classes for early morning performances in February for all YCS students and can provide letters in support of excusal for students who are not in the YCS system *** If you are a home school student, that makes the process even easier! ***

*** Adults: We need you too! There are multiple roles in this show that require adult performers, so please don’t hesitate to audition! ***

Middle school, ugh. It’s the worst. But Greg is determined not to be at the bottom of the popularity chart. He’ll leave that to his weird neighbor, Fregley. Or maybe Greg’s best friend, Rowley Jefferson. But it’s not going to be Greg…no way.

Jeff Kinney’s popular character takes center stage as Greg’s cartoon diary becomes a hilarious and heartfelt musical. Will Greg’s plans to become popular lead him to sacrifice his one true friend? Can anyone avoid the dreaded Cheese Touch? Grab a hall pass and don’t be late for an adventure familiar to anyone who actually survived middle school.
