Artist bio

I have always loved animals (my degrees are in Animal Science and Veterinary Technology), so it was only natural that they would be my inspiration. Now that my husband and I are official “empty nesters”, animal/pet portraits are the start of a new enterprise.

It has been only recently that I began exploring my abilities with color pencils. While I always loved to draw as a child, it was not until the past few years that I actually began dabbling in a few evening & weekend art classes here and there. But, as community classes were shut down due to COVID, and I could no longer spend evenings out, I started practicing at home in earnest during the summer of 2020. Soon, friends and family were asking for commissioned works and it has taken off from there.

This is currently an evening-and-weekends endeavor for me. I am a member of the Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center community and work, full time, in the Radiation Oncology Department as a cancer research laboratory manager. As much as I enjoy what I do, I eagerly await retirement days when I can spend even more time at the drawing board!

Please, let me know if you are interested in having your pet or a family members/ friends pet (gift certificates available) commemorated!
