Artist bio

Dream – Create – Blue Skies:

Art, integral within my life, sustains me, challenges me, fulfills my soul.

And at the center of my art world are pet portraits, as I love animals way beyond reason 🙂 On a good art day I am painting a pet for a couple of hours before taking a break to create an aluminum can pendant or working on a new mixed media technique or planning a new class.

In addition to pet portraits, I work in a variety of multimedia, creating abstract art and various crafts – so my studio is a wild mix of mediums and ideas and projects in process….

My studio is open to the public, so drop by explore my world of art and artisan creations. I am in Studio A/B at the beautiful Yadkin Cultural Arts Center. As a sole proprietor AND as a flaky artist, my hours do vary, though I can usually be found in my studio Monday through Friday from noon to 4:00 pm.

Carolina Painters’ Guild, Yadkin ArtMe Guild, and the Blue Ridge Craft Trails.

I love teaching and sharing arts and crafts techniques. I look forward to teaching my favorite class “Paint Your Pet” again soon. Since this is a hand-on, close contact class, we will not resume this class until post-Covid-19 vaccinations! I also teach a variety of arts and crafts classes including marbled scarves, acrylic pouring, floor cloths, acrylic pour pendants, fabric collage and calligraphy.

About me:

Born and raised in Yadkin County, I was recognized at an early age as an artist. Returning to Yadkin County after graduation with a BFA in Art from UNC – Greensboro, I devoted my first career to creating and implementing one-to-one Database Marketing Strategy and Tactics for a Fortune 100 company. Now, fully immersed in my second career, I continue to explore creative expression through portraits, multimedia art and writing.
