INTERPRETATIONS
by The Beecassos
On Display May 8 – June 27, 2025
The Beecassos are an award-winning triad-based art quilt collective that takes their name from Picasso. Like Picasso a master of stylistic expression, the Beecassos experiment with non-traditional ways of working with fabric, thread and related materials. This group is focused on non-traditional quilting and styles such as art quilts, various types of fabric, digitized images and three-dimensional techniques. This particular show will include the works of Beecasso artists Pat Arndt, Vickie Clontz, Ellen Hart, Kathy Johnson, Nancy Lassister, Gail McNeill, Valerie Paterson, Joan Rutledge, Penny Sharp, Jenny Williams, Mary Jo Wimberly, Nanette S. Zeller, and Paula Jones.
The Beecassos have periodic group challenges, which are tons of fun and push their creativity to new levels.
An opening reception will be held Friday, May 9 from 5-7pm at the Yadkin Cultural Arts Center. Refreshments will be served. Free Admission, all are welcome to attend.

History of the Gallery
The Welborn Gallery was named after Marion and Jewell Welborn of Boonville for the generous lead gift they made to the Center’s capital campaign. The Welborns gifted the final funds needed to close the campaign and make possible the opening of the center.
